Description

Voltage-dependent anion-selective channel protein 2 (also known as hVDAC2, Outer mitochondrial membrane protein porin 2, VDAC-2) is a mitochondria membrane protein encoded by the VDAC2 or POR gene (Entrez Gene ID 7417) in human. VDAC-2 a pore-forming, voltage-dependent anion channel that mediate metabolite diffusion across the mitochondrial outer membrane. It is also involved in the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway via regulation of BCL2-antagonist/killer 1 protein activity.

Storage

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
