- Monoclonal
- Antigen
- Synthetic peptide
- Description
- Rabbit polyclonal antibody to GFAP whose expression can be detected in cells not containing fibronectin. It is found in the cytoplasm. As it is a structural component of the cytoskeleton it can also perform molecular functions like neuron projection regeneration and response to wounding. It may also help in various biological processes like negative regulation of neuron projection development and positive regulation of Schwann cell proliferation. This protein is a class-III intermediate filament and a cell-specific marker that during the development of the central nervous system distinguishes astrocytes from other glial cells.
