Description
ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX50 (DDX50), also known as DEAD box protein 50 or Gu-beta or Nucleolar protein Gu2, is characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), and are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this DEAD box protein family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. DDX50 is a DEAD box enzyme that may be involved in ribosomal RNA synthesis or processing. DDX50 and DDX21, also called RH-II/GuA, have similar structures and are in tandem orientation.

Storage
Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
