Description

Fatty acid desaturase 1, also known as, Delta(5 fatty acid desaturase or D5D or Delta(5 desaturase or Delta-5 desaturase, and encoded by the gene name(s), FADS1 or FADSD5, regulates unsaturation of fatty acids through the introduction of double bonds between defined carbons of the fatty acyl chain. FADS1 is widely expressed, with highest levels detected in liver, brain, adrenal gland and heart. FADS1 is also highly expressed in fetal liver and brain.

Storage

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
