Melanin-concentrating hormone receptor 1, also known as, MCH receptor 1 (MCH-R1 or MCHR-1) or G-protein coupled receptor 24 or MCH-1R (MCH1R or MCHR) or SLC-1 or Somatostatin receptor-like protein, and encoded by the gene name(s), MCHR1 or GPR24 or SLC1, is an integral plasma membrane protein which binds melanin-concentrating hormone. MCHR1 can inhibit cAMP accumulation and stimulate intracellular calcium flux, and is probably involved in the neuronal regulation of food consumption. MCHR1 is localized to the cell membrane and is hihgly expressed in brain, particularly in the frontal cortex and hypothalamus, with lower levels detected in the liver and heart.

Storage

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
