- Cardiomyocyte isolated from rat heart stained using Monoclonal Anti-Desmin, clone DE-U-10 (Cat. No. GTX26322). The cross-striation corresponding to the Z bands is evident. Some striations are continuously crossing the cell, others show branching that is equivalent to the course of the sarcomeres. Due to the isolation procedure, the cell contains only one membrane of the intercalated disc at both ends that labels for desmin. Nuclei are stained with propidium iodide.
