Isatuximab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the transmembrane receptor and the extracellular enzyme CD38, a protein highly expressed in malignant cells of the blood system, including multiple myeloma. Isatuximab has antitumor activity through a variety of biological mechanisms, including antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity, complement-dependent cytotoxicity, antibody-dependent cytophagocytosis, and direct induction of apoptosis without crosslinking.
